Latex would probably work well, since the molds would be small, but you would aonly have a mold of the outside of Galadriel's ears, which wouldn't give you the means to slip the ears you cast over the existing ears on other figures. A better approach would be to sculpt elf ears onto a normal-eared head, (preferably a spare) and THEN make your molds on that head. You could then remove the sculpted ears, and mold the new ears directly onto the head. If you applied a release to the head, you could then remove your newly-cast ears and put them onto another figure, if you wished, although you might have to do a bit of reshaping, if the new head is different from the one you made the mold on. I'm about to start an elf figure myself, but I think I'll just sculpt the ears in place with epoxy putty, rather than do molding and casting. I think it would just be easier.
