Some new pics of my custom samurai:

Close-ups of the suneate (shin armor), kusazuri (skirt armor), haidate (thigh armor) and warashi sandles.

Some pics of the oyoroi armor pieces. If anyone saw my original post a couple months ago, you may remember this armor was strung in red cord. I didn't like the color (too flashy) so I restrung all the armor in green and natural cord
.

The begining phases of the kabuto helm. It is comprised of the cap of DML's mongol helmet and a visor from a DML German peak cap, w/ copper fukikaesi (flares to the sides of the visor) and galvenized steel wakidate kuwagata (tall ornament to the front of the helmet). The sikoro (segmented armor for the neck) is near completion.

The swords are from the Samurai Collectibles company, as are the HS, kimono, hakama pants, leg/wrist wraps and socks. I painted the sheaths w/ Testors rust enamel and buffed them w/ brown Kiwi shoe polish to acheive the "leathery" sheen. I used some leather lace for the hanging cords but may change that out for some colored embroidery floss or something similar.
